The most popular question I get asked is ‘How do I become an audiobook narrator…?’
I will eventually come up with material of my own that I shall place here – but there will also be links to others who actually coach those interested in taking up this crazy profession.
I’ll say three things here:
- It’s the least well paid job in Voice-Over.
- It’s a marathon, not a sprint
- And finally – In so many ways, it’s a Labor of Love.
One other thing I’ll add here – and point you towards – is a site prepared by a colleague of mine who has put many hours of work into answering the question posted above. Whatever I may have to say on the subject, there will always be a link here to Karen Commins’ Narrator’s Roadmap – it probably answers every question a budding narrator may have.
